Delhi to Bir Billing distance is around 472 kilometers, which takes approximately 9 hours, 25 minutes to reach by road. You can take an overnight Volvo bus or book a private car to reach there via NH 44.

  • By Train: Jammu Mail (14033) departs at 20:05 from Old Delhi (DLI) and reaches Patankot at 06:05 the next morning. Another train is the Dhauladhar Express (14035) that departs at 22:30.
  • By Volvo Bus: Take a Volvo bus from Majnu Ka Tila, RK Ashram, or the Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Delhi. The ticket charges generally start from ₹650 to ₹850. However, if you are considering HRTC buses, the charges may increase to ₹1,700.
  • By Road: Delhi to Chandigarh to Bilaspur to Mandi to Jogindernagar to Bir is one route via Mandi. Another goes via Palampur, starting from Delhi to Chandigarh to Una to Kangra to Palampur to Bir.
  1. Chandigarh to Bir Billing

The distance between Chandigarh and Bir Billing is around 237 kilometers. So, if you are traveling from Chandigarh, you can travel via NH205 and NH154, which are ideal options and take only 5 hours, 46 minutes. 

  • By Train: Hemkunt Express (14609) is a great option that departs daily at 22:05 from Chandigarh (CDG) and reaches Pathankot Cantt (PTKC) at 02:48. This is the nearest railway station to Bir Billing in Chandigarh.
  • By Volvo Bus: Volvo buses are available from ISBT Sector 43, Chandigarh, and take around 6 to 8 hours to reach Bir. The ticket prices generally range from ₹400 to ₹1,300, depending on your operator.
  • By Road: Two routes are available by road. The first is Chandigarh to Kurali to Ropar to Anandpur Sahib to Una to Amb to Kangra to Palampur to Baijnath to Bir. The second is Chandigarh to Zirakpur to Kiratpur Sahib to Nerchowk Expressway to Sundernagar to Mandi to Joginder Nagar to Bir. Both routes take about 6.5 hours to reach Bir.
  1. Pathankot to Bir Billing

The distance from Pathankot to Bir Billing is about 142 kilometers. The journey generally takes about 4 to 5 hours by road and 7 to 8 hours to reach closest to Bir Billing by train. You can take any transport option as per your convenience and pace of travel.

  • By Train: Take the narrow-gauge Kangra Valley Passenger from the Pathankot Junction. It will take you to the Ahju Railway Station, which is only about 3 kilometers from Bir. It is the nearest railway station to Bir Billing so far. From there, take a taxi or other local transport to conclude your journey. 
  • By Volvo Bus: If you take the Volvo bus, it will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Bir. The departure window is from 09:10 pm to 10:45 pm and reaches Bir in the early morning. The ticket fees are around ₹900 to ₹1,700 and vary according to the operator you are traveling with.
  • By Road: By road, you can book a private taxi directly from Pathankot. The distance is around 100 kilometers and can be covered within 4 to 5 hours.
